My little ones seem to have inherited my sweet tooth and love for pastries. We never pass up an opportunity to try new baked goodies wherever we get a chance. Such an opportunity presented itself the other day as we passed by Monsees Cafe on our way home from work.
My sister brought us some flavored bread sticks from the Monsees last month so when I saw their shop sign we decided to stop for some bread sticks. I was in for a pleasant surprise when we saw the wide array of pastries that were on display. Much as I would like to sample everything in the shop we decided on picking one pastry each. My little cupcakes went straight to the muffin display and began their selection. Ate Jade chose the one that looked like Strawberry Shortcake’s muffin, which was actually a blueberry cream muffin and not strawberry. Jakei went for the double chocolate muffin and started picking on the chocolate bits before munching on his muffin. My husband and I went for the Danish pastries and got Spanish bread and breadsticks to go.
This experience showed us that we all need to work on our EQ as we immediately started on our goodies as soon as we got into the car. It was all quiet for the first five minutes while we were judging our treats. The Monsees Pastries got a thumbs-up rating with the Spanish Bread topping our food chart. My little cupcakes started to plan their next order even before we got home.
