It’s always a challenge to have some quality adult enjoyment when you start having kids. But, it’s not entirely impossible. With a little help from family members, you can have a quick getaway to enjoy the sights and sounds that are not exactly kid-friendly. It’s time to hit the slots and have some sister bonding time at the MGM Grand Hotel Las Vegas. This world famous tourist destination in the Entertainment Capital of the World has loads of excitement to offer.
The MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada is touted to be the largest hotel resort complex in the USA and the second largest hotel all around the world with its 293-ft. high building with over 5,000 rooms not including the 51 luxurious loft units at the Skylofts, the 576 The Signature Tower suites, and the 29 The Mansion villas. Its casinos are also expansive at over 170,000 square feet of floor space. The grandeur of this hotel is made more exciting with the restaurants, pools and water features, shops, and night clubs. The shows and entertainment offered by this hotel are also some the most popular reasons why tourists flock to this destination.
As we are foodies at heart, the restaurants will definitely not escape our attention. The restaurants of popular TV chefs Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck are on our list of must-visit food places. It would really be great to get a taste of Emeril’s “Bam!” from the selection of innovative New Orleans-Creole dishes. The Seafood Bar at Emeril’s is popular for the fresh oysters and shellfish being shucked and prepared right before the guests. A little less “fanfare” yet nonetheless equally exciting are the offerings at Wolfgang Puck’s American Bar and Grill. Here, we can expect to be treated with comfort food that stimulates the palate with Wolfgang’s uniquely fine taste and flavors.
The L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon also promises to be a one of a kind gustatory experience. The culinary masterpieces of France’s Chef of the Century are prepared in front of the dinner guests. There’s also a tasting menu that allows you to sample the dishes before you choose from the menu. A selection of wines from all over the world is also available; the experience of choosing and tasting wines in this restaurant is said to be friendly rather than intimidating. Of course, we can always rely on the restaurant staff to recommend the perfect pairings for our dinner courses.
A visit to the MGM Grand would not be complete without a visit to the casinos. There are also other neighboring casinos that are so conveniently accessible from the hotel. We’re not really high rollers but we’d like to give the slots and maybe a few of the table games a try. The KÀ by Cirque du Soleil is also in our itinerary. Of course, we would not miss the CSI: The Experience! It would be nice to indulge our passion for criminal investigation and forensics. What a blast it would be to work side-by-side with real-life forensic scientists in state-of-the-art crime lab! I’m sure that the natural high that we will get from this and other activities in our Las Vegas getaway will not fizzle out months after we get back home.
