Environment protection campaigns is not just about conserving energy and water, or recycling trash. It also encourages people to switch to an eco-friendly lifestyle by choosing organic food and household products for their daily needs. Organic produce can now be found in supermarkets and groceries to cater to the demand for safer and better quality food grown the natural way. One good quality brand of organic chicken products available in selected establishments in Manila is the Pamora Farm Products.
Pamora Farm is a free-range chicken farm that breeds colored free range chicken from France. Unlike commercial chicken, they are not cooped up in cages eating commercial chicken feeds and boosters. The free-range chicken is allowed to roam in an enclosed but spacious range where they can freely graze and search for food the natural way. The result is firm and lean meat that is free from chemicals or artificial compound. They even use the herbal approach in healing or treating their chicken.
Our first Pamora Free-Range Chicken recipe was a Rosemary-Garlic Roasted Chicken. It was as simple as mincing garlic and rubbing it in the chicken with some salt and dried rosemary. We let the chicken sit for about 30 minutes for the flavors to set in before putting it in the oven to roast. The result is a slightly moist and flavorful chicken that healthy food lovers can appreciate. Aside from the garlic and rosemary, one can taste the distinct flavor of the free-range chicken which is quite similar to that of our native chicken. Those who would like to explore more range of flavors from this healthy chicken can check out the recipes in the Pamora Farm website.
Pamora Farm also offers 6 varieties of homemade traditional French Pâté. We got to try two of them, the Chicken Breast Pâté and Chicken Liver Pâté. I wasn’t so crazy about the Chicken Liver but my mom liked it. They can both go well with warm bread, crackers, or bread sticks.
