We have tasted pastries from neighborhood bakeshops, home-based momprenuers, food kiosks, commercial bakeshops, and specialty bakeries. These pastry adventures have led us to the good, the bad, and the best baked goodies around. There are also those that stand out among the rest, or the Unforgettable Cakes that one can’t get enough of. Some of my favorites are the Chocolate Caramel Cake from Cravings and Bannaple, Turtle Pie from Conti’s Bakeshop, and just about anything from Heny Sison’s Cakes at Victorino’s Restaurant.
Moist Chocolate Cakes are of course an all time favorite but there are also treats that make a regular day feel special like the Mango Chocolate Torte, Carrot Cake, and Pistachio Sans Rival from Chef Heny. The best thing about these cakes is that they are filled with fresh and high quality ingredients, and this alone makes them worth every penny. They also don’t scrimp on their toppings or fillings which makes them even more delightful. My first bite of the Pistachio Sans Rival was quite heavenly that I could not forget it for weeks after. I also loved her Apple Pie which is filled with apples that still has a bit of crunch in them, generous cheese toppings, and not too sweet caramel sauce.
I could not fault any of the other cakes that we have bought from Heny Sison Cakes. So whenever you are in the Scout area in Quezon City, drop by at Victorino’s for some of the best baked goodies in town. Victorino’s is located at 11th Jamboree St. cor. Scout Rallos St. Quezon City.
