Love and support of the people around us are ingredients for personal success. And even during times of failure, the unconditional love and support of our loved ones is often enough to make life a lot sweeter. One person who has given me endless love and support through the years is my mom, the lovely superwoman, Mrs. Edelmira D. Joson.
At times when life dishes out its bitter, sour, or any of its unpleasant flavors, my mom is always there to help me get over the unsavory aspects. She is like a power breakfast that fills me with encouragement and advice whenever I start a new endeavor in life, the tasty snack that you enjoy having during breaks, a hearty lunch that nourishes your mind and spirit with her words of wisdom, and a delightful dinner that rewards you with a relaxed and fulfilled feeling at the end of the day.
During tough times she is like a bowl of hot soup that gives me warmth and comfort. She is my chocolate cake and ice cream when I need to chase my blues away, and the gourmet coffee that picks me up when I am really down. Just like a master chef, she has taught me how to deal with the spices of life. With the right attitude you can make something good out of life even if you are faced with the most unpleasant flavors.
Through all these years, she has given me and my sisters more than enough love and support to face the challenges of life without expecting anything in return. Even when she is faced with her own troubles, she never showed us any signs of weakness. Instead she continued to shower us with her loving deeds and inspired us to be courageous in life.
With everything that she has done for us, the gratitude that we express during birthdays, Mother’s Day, and other special occasions doesn’t seem enough. For those who willingly give love and support for others, thank you is enough appreciation for their good deeds. But for us recipients, there is a better way to show true appreciation. A few words of gratitude and recognition using the online app of Unilab’s Salamat sa Husay at Malasakit Campaign is sure to make our heroes feel special.
Send a FREE cake to your Unsung Hero
In celebrating their 70th anniversary, Unilab is giving you a chance to thank someone for the unconditional love and support that they have given you through the years. The Husay at Malasakit Campaign allows you to express your gratitude to an unsung hero (or a loved one who has given you unconditional love and support through the years) online. As a bonus, Unilab will send a customized dedication cake to your unsung hero for free!
All you have to do is visit www.husayatmalasakit.com and click nominate. Simply fill out the form and upload a photo of your unsung hero. You will also be asked to briefly answer the question “Why do you want to thank your unsung Hero?” Don’t forget to check for a confirmation e-mail from Unilab to make sure that your entry has been approved.
It would be great if we can make it an everyday task to thank our moms for being unsung heroes. If this is not possible, then just take advantage of every opportunity that allows you to express your gratitude. So what are you waiting for? Nominate your loved one now and send him/her a free customized dedication cake courtesy of Unilab.

Thank you so much for taking time to share your stories with us. 🙂 We’ve just drawn the winner of the Unilab health kit. Find out who it is at http://foodiemomster.com/2015/09/11/who-gets-to-have-a-unilab-health-kit/. 🙂
I nominate my son’s ex-nanny Ate Bellen, because she has been so kind and gentle to my boys during the time that I am still working. I know she knew how thankful I am to her.. But I am hoping to give her a little something special. Especially this time na medyo matanda na din sya.
Thank you for this chance Foodie Momster & Unilab 🙂

For me, my father is my unsung hero
My unsung hero aside from my parents is my Tita Candy. She is like a second mother to me and has been my confidant growing up since I was a teenager until I got married. She has always been there for me to listen and give advice to my problems. One of the women I admire for setting up a good example to everyone.
